About this guide

How this guide was made

Online research

Mental health databases, nonprofit directories, government resources, and community organizations were used to compile information on services, costs, and accessibility.

Resources are personally visited to verify hours, services, and accessibility for immigrant women. Field-verified locations are marked with the badge below.

Verified on-site This badge means the resource was personally visited and confirmed in person. Field visits are ongoing — check back for updates.

Coverage options

Understanding your insurance options

Texas has NOT expanded Medicaid under the ACA. About 617,000 Texans earn too much for Medicaid but too little for marketplace subsidies — this is called the "coverage gap." If you're in this gap, free nonprofits and sliding scale clinics are your best option. Call 211 for help.

You do not need insurance to access most resources in this guide. Many are completely free regardless of income or immigration status.
